A Consultant on the Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO) Transitions team has broad in-depth knowledge of the IOO business and acts as the first point of reference for the client broker dealers custodian banks etc. for handing and resolving systematic dataflow issues. The Consultant will act and works on relatively complex high profile activities and projects involving committees and/or senior management and may sometimes include the end-client. The Consultant focuses on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures while building towards becoming an area expert. The Consultant operates under general supervision but works independently most of the time.
BASIC EXPECTATIONS:
- Demonstrates excellent problem solving analytical consultative communication presentation project management and judgment skills Has an understanding of end to end IOO processes Including through understand of systems & applications work and connectivity. Opening the new accounts on behalf of the Investment Managers and ensure all the static set ups are in place before the account goes live with shared services teams (within NT) Custodians/ Agents IOO Book of records other internal applications Interested third parties (if any)
- Work closely with the custodians/ agents to ensure all the required documentation from regulatory or exchanges stand point is in place at the custody level to open the required depot nostro accounts set up the Tax IDs Depository participants and market identifiers beforehand.
- Work closely with the custodians to have the Standing Instructions (SIs) & Standard settlement instructions (SSIs) in place and perform the periodic audits for the same.
- Assist Investment Managers to perform the inter-portfolio/ inter-depot (custody) movements in order to facilitate the clients investment strategies.
- Involvement in performing quality checks and internal audits as per requirement
- Candidate should have a strong understanding of various processes on trade life cycle knowledge of the industry and an understanding of how new institutional and NAV driven accounts are setup and onboarded Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices Project management skills
- Flexible for stretch assignments and shift timings Ability to communicate negotiate and consult with internal clients fulfil the regulatory requirements for the division manage audit & internal stakeholders requirements.
- Process streamlining driving automation and increase productivity.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working closely with the IOO Client Services team migrate new clients onto the NT platform (incorporating testing) and provide a complete handover to IOO BAU Teams.
- Work with the PMO Client Change Management and System/Interfaces teams to ensure projects progress smoothly and meet set deadlines Attend internal and external client meetings as an SME
- As required by Team Manager take ownership for specific projects corporate or team specific.
- Raise issues in a clear structured manner and ensure potential issues are flagged to Line Manager at the earliest opportunity
- Assist in the production of relevant Management Information
- Create update & maintain training documentation (including process diagrams) & procedure notes relevant to role where required
- Provide training for new processes in IOO Transitions. Lead and cascade application updates and release documents to BAU teams.
- Maintain high standards of personal integrity. Represent integrity and the firm effectively in a way that is consistent with our vision culture and values.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Essential
- SME in current role
- Possessing a deep and detailed understanding of systems and processes.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent problem solving skills with ability to consider potential downstream impacts.
- Ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Excellent communication skills both to Internal & External Clients.
- Good attention to detail Works well under pressure with ability to meet set deadlines.
- Well organized with ability to own multiple tasks
- Ability to identify potential risk issues while undertaking all aspects of work
Experience:
- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience
- People with relevant experience on Banking operations/ Transitions services/ account/ market opening/ client onboarding having exposure to work on the Investment Manager or custodys end will be preferred
Eligibility:
24 months as a TC to move as a Consultant
