Overview

Provides leadership oversight and coordination of the functions and activities of patient care technicians and unit secretaries in the Clinical support team (CST). Responsible for daily operations for all shifts including work assignments performance monitoring coaching and mentoring staff and ensuring efficient use of resources. Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety Quality Integrity and Stewardship that support our mission vision and values.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree or equivalent college coursework preferred.

Experience:

  • One year of experience in a medical field required.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensures fulfillment of mission and progress towards vision. Exhibits behaviors consistent with MHS values and ensures strategic plan is cascaded throughout the organization to achieve desired business outcomes.

  1. Build and maintain a cohesive team. Provides supervision direction and support for assigned members of the team including onboarding of new colleagues monthly updates triaging of work appropriate staffing level expectation setting resource allocation and follow-through of assignments. Interprets policies objectives and operational procedures and represents them in a positive manner.

  1. Coaches and develops colleagues to their fullest potential providing educational and developmental opportunities as needed. Equips colleagues to fully utilize the time talent technology and resources available to them to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Manages full cycle performance management of colleagues as supported by the Nurse Manager. Develop and implement succession plans for team.

  1. Interacts daily with inpatient nursing to address and resolve any concerns related to the colleagues in CST.

  1. Monitors productivity of the patient care technicians and unit secretaries in CST through timecards and schedules. This includes developing and maintaining an accurate schedule.

  1. Identifies and evaluates ways in which to grow and optimize CST including but not limited to continuous evaluation of the department processes staffing use of resources and equipment and quality/safety initiatives. Implements and monitors improvements.

  1. Effectively manages large and small-scale projects. Exercises good project management discipline and rigor in managing tasks deliverables and needed resources. Completes projects within prescribed timeline and budget. Ensures all scope changes are evaluated communicated and approved by the appropriate parties prior to implementation. Evaluates implementations and adjusts accordingly.

  1. Maintains professional growth and development through continuing education seminars workshops and professional affiliations.

  1. Performs other related work as required or requested.
