Manager oversees an organizations human resources department managing the full employee lifecycle including recruitment training benefits administration and compliance with labor laws. They develop company policies manage employee relations and align HR strategies with business goals to foster a productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing: Managing the hiring process from posting jobs to interviewing and onboarding according to strategic planning.
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution: Serving as a liaison between management and employees resolving disputes and maintaining a positive company culture.
Policy Development & Compliance: Developing and implementing HR policies and ensuring compliance with local state and federal labor laws.
Performance Management & Training: Supporting performance review processes providing coaching and coordinating staff development programs.
Compensation & Benefits Administration: Managing salary structures payroll and employee benefits programs.
HR Strategy: Collaborating with senior leadership to define monitor and execute workforce planning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience as an HR Manager HR Generalist or similar role.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of labor laws (e.g. FMLA FLSA) HR best practices and HRIS systems.
Skills: Exceptional communication interpersonal conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field; HR certifications (SHRM-CP/SCP PHR/SPHR) are often preferred.
Common Duties
Conducting performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
Managing employee records and ensuring data confidentiality.
Developing and updating employee handbooks.
Performing exit interviews.
