Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Secretary to join our civil litigation team in Downtown Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation matters with a focus on insurance defense and premises liability. This role is key to ensuring the smooth operation of the litigation team and providing administrative support throughout the lifecycle of cases.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys handling civil litigation insurance defense and premises liability cases
Draft proofread and format legal documents including pleadings motions discovery and correspondence
Manage calendars schedule hearings depositions and client meetings
File documents with courts and maintain organized case files
Handle client communications phone calls and emails professionally
Assist with trial preparation and organize exhibits and case materials
Maintain deadlines and ensure timely submission of legal documents
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation secretary or legal administrative assistant
Strong knowledge of civil litigation insurance defense and premises liability procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document management software
Excellent organizational communication and time-management skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of California court rules and filing procedures preferred
