Built on a legacy of quality and innovation we are seeking an Outbound Distribution Intern to join our team and support our continued growth. This position reports to the Director of Distribution and will work in the Katy Texas office.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Outbound Process Improvement Project
• The purpose of the project is to focus on process improvements/efficiencies associated with picking and loading operations.
• The anticipated outcome of this project is labor savings process improvement and overall outbound operations efficiency.

General Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Director of Distribution and Logistics on a process improvement project for Outbound operations.
• Interview DC (Distribution Center) employees associated with Outbound operations to gain a better understanding of current Operations.
• Gather pertinent data for picking and loading operations.
• Present data findings to Director of Distribution.
• Assist with analyzing data points and determining best course of action.
• Review labor costs and functions associated with Outbound operations with the Dir of Distribution.
• Provide reports on project progress (bi-weekly).
• Publish and brief final process improvement report to Dir of Ops and VP of Operations.
• Produce a Draft operating procedure to support findings.
• Assist with validating operating procedure.
• Implement/train operating procedure with DC supervisors.
• Review Outbound work processes recommend measures to improve productivity methods equipment performance and quality of product or service and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
• Estimate material time and staffing requirements for a given project based on work orders job specifications and experience.
• Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this role shall have the following qualification and experiences:

• Must be a current student or recent graduate of a university or college. Minimum of a rising sophomore level.
• Coursework related to the internship role:
  • Industrial Engineering/Distribution
  • Statistics
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Outlook)

To be successful in this role we believe that you possess the following skills competencies & characteristics:

• Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in tools or software relevant to the role are Microsoft Office Advanced Excel AutoCAD is a plus but not required.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication teamwork problem-solving and adaptability skills
