What you will do at Precinct One:
The Education Manager is an integral role within the Programs Division they oversee day-to-day operations at various community centers including Alexander Deussen Community Center Finnigan Park Community Center Youth Education Town (YET) and Cavalcade Community Centers and oversee programs for all ages. This role implements and operationalizes programs services and initiatives across Precinct One within the Programs Division. They are guided by the Director of Programs and their direct supervisor the Deputy Director of Education Initiatives. The Education Manager also works with the managers of programs at the various community centers to ensure proper budget management staff allocation safety standards data management and program assessment.
The Education Manager conducts daily check-ins with each team at every location and is available on call during the hours of operation at each site. They assist in addressing operational issues and communicate any incidents or emergencies that require leaderships input. During natural disasters the Education Manager helps organize the distribution of necessities as well as warming or cooling centers and steps in to cover staff when there are shortages.
Additionally this role works with other divisional managers to ensure alignment with all other sites and programs. They work together to streamline processes and procedures. They check-in regularly to share community trends best practices lessons learned and training opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Design & Implementation:
Design implement and oversee educational recreational and enrichment programs that support youth development and community well-being.
Plan manage and evaluate educational programs for adult learners to ensure alignment with community needs and established goals.
Coordinate educational and workforce development programming across multiple community centers to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with educators and subject-matter experts to develop and select curricula and classes that advance participant outcomes.
Staff Management:
Supervise program managers and staff at various community centers providing guidance and support as needed.
Participate in the recruitment training and performance evaluation of employees to foster a motivated and skilled workforce.
Community Engagement & Partnership:
Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations educational institutions and key stakeholders.
Engage residents and community partners to promote awareness access and participation in educational programs.
Share community trends best practices and lessons learned with divisional partners to strengthen programming across sites.
Operations Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure programs comply with applicable laws educational standards safety regulations and organizational policies.
Support daily operations across multiple community centers including staff coordination and issue resolution.
Respond to incidents emergencies and operational challenges; escalate issues to leadership as appropriate.
Resources Management / Continuous Improvement:
Develop manage and monitor program budgets to ensure responsible and effective use of resources.
Collaborate with the Grants Administrator to identify and secure funding and other resources for educational programming.
Collect analyze and report program data to assess effectiveness track progress and inform decision-making.
Use data and feedback to improve program quality operational efficiency and participant outcomes.

Education:
Bachelors in Education Social Work Public Administration or other related field.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in program management or community services preferably in a supervisory or management role.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of educational and community program development across youth and adult populations aligned with community needs.
Understanding safety standards and risk management in public and community-serving environments.
Proficiency in budget planning and fiscal oversight including interpreting and managing financial reports.
Leadership and team management skills including mentoring performance management and team coordination across multiple locations.
Strong operational and organizational skills to manage daily site functions and ensure program efficiency.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for internal collaboration and external stakeholder engagement.
Ability to respond to emergencies and operational challenges quickly and effectively maintaining continuity of services.
Ability to coordinate and align multiple program sites ensuring consistency in service delivery and policy application.
Ability to analyze and apply data to improve programming assess outcomes and support continuous improvement.

Work Environment:
Oversee day-to-day operations at various community centers including Alexander Deussen Community Center Finnigan Park Community Center Youth Education Town (YET) and Cavalcade Community Centers.
This position requires evening and on occasion weekend hours to accommodate community programs services and events.
This role requires frequent travel between multiple community centers and program sites within Precinct One.
Standard duties are performed in an office or community center environment with occasional work outdoors during events or recreational programming.
May require presence during emergencies natural disasters or urgent operational matters (e.g. warming/cooling center setup or supply distribution).
Fast-paced community-focused setting with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to travel frequently between community centers and program locations within the precinct
Prolonged periods of walking or standing while visiting program sites or supporting events
Occasionally required to lift and move materials or equipment up to 25 pounds
Ability to work both in standard office environments and active program-based settings (e.g. gyms pools classrooms)
Must be able to respond quickly and safely in emergency situations
