In this position...


We are looking for an experienced plant environmental engineer to provide technical and regulatory environmental support to the plant manufacturing team at the Windsor Engine Site and is responsible for completing all required regulatory reports (air water waste CO2 etc.) and responding to any agency inquiries. As a team player you will collaborate with the Windsor Engine team as well as other plants and the corporate office to identify innovative ways to reduce water consumption waste generation and material usage.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily technical and regulatory guidance for environmental media and operational subjects including air quality water waste tanks and material management.
  • Maintain and implement the Environmental Operating System (EOS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 environmental management standards.
  • Support the achievement of Corporate Footprint and manufacturing targets specifically related to the compliance index water conservation waste reduction energy efficiency and hydrocarbon management.
  • Develop accurate regulatory correspondence including plant reports and permit applications to ensure facility compliance.
  • Monitor progress and expenditures for environmental capital and expense projects to ensure they are completed on time and remain within budget.
  • Manage the Total Waste Management contract to ensure waste is stored and disposed of according to legal and corporate requirements.
  • Delivery requires environmental and waste management training to plant employees.
  • Oversee technical aspects of environmental systems including compliance assurance environmental reserves and facility decommissioning or remediation.
  • Utilize specialized software applications to track data and achieve objectives including Global Environmental Management (GEM) IPOINT Project Environmental Review System (PERS) Integrated Chemical System Management (ICSM) and SharePoint.
  • Foster strong working relationships with environmental professionals and cross-functional stakeholders at both the facility and corporate staff levels.
  • Apply standard procedures and industry best practices to maintain manufacturing compliance.
  • Maintain a fundamental and current understanding of all applicable national regional and local environmental rules and regulations.
  • Represent the companys interests through regular interaction with external entities such as regulatory agencies community groups trade organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
  • Assist facility and product programs by managing necessary permit actions conducting capacity planning studies and submitting environmental project funding requests.
  • Support Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations to ensure all regulatory discharge requirements are met.
  • Manage operational environmental tasks including testing plant audits and spill response protocols.



Qualifications

Youll have...

Education: Bachelors degree in engineering. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).

Experience:

  • 2 years of environmental experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of Microsoft office application experience.

Education: Masters degree in Chemical Environmental or Mechanical engineering degree.

Experience:

  • Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal teambuilding and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Environmental Management Systems specifically the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 standard.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental data management software including Global Environmental Management (GEM) Integrated Chemical System Management (ICSM) and Project Environmental Review System (PERS).
  • Demonstrated experience in Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations and industrial discharge monitoring.
  • Proven track record of managing capital and expense budgets for environmental remediation infrastructure or decommissioning projects.
  • Adept project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams to meet Corporate Footprint and sustainability targets.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $74000 - 124000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
