JOB TITLE: Migrant/EL Summer Principal or Program Director-Part Time
LOCATION: Reed
REPORTS TO: Administrator of Student Support Services and Administrator
of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment
CALENDAR: June 1 - June 26 (includes the week prior to the summer school for prepping)
SALARY: $3000 stipend
BENEFITS: None
JOB SUMMARY:
This position oversees intervention summer school program for English Learners and Migrant students for grades Pre K through 6. The summer school principal or program director will be responsible for hiring staff planning the summer program and assuring that the implementation of the summer programs meet all Federal Program requirements. S/he is also responsible for day-to-day building administration and the creation of a safe and positive learning environment for students and staff involved in the summer school program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Idaho Education Administration certificate completed or in process or similar experience
- At least three (3) years of successful classroom teaching
- Bilingual Preferred
- Familiar with Federal Program requirements
- Positive public relations skills
- Knowledge of the Kuna School District elementary curriculum
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret and enforce district policies and administrative regulations including the skillful handling of daily disciplinary and attendance problems guaranteeing due process to students.
- Oversee the organization and administration of the program including developing program themes daily schedules and meeting Federal Program compliance requirements.
- Supervise summer school personnel.
- Supervision of daily use of the school facilities.
- Coordinate and communicate with community partners and program coordinators.
- Communicate with and distribute information to parents.
- Coordinate with the KSD technology department about technology needs and software licensing.
- Oversee the registration of students
- Oversee campus safety including security crisis planning and emergency procedures.
- Track student learning growth via pre and post assessments.
- Interact with students parents staff and others in a positive encouraging manner.
- Know and follow district policy and chain of command.
- Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Any other duties as assigned.
