Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Shift Supervisor - Off Shift Director
Department: Long Term Care
Location: DeMay Living Center - 100 Sunset Drive Newark NY 14513
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule:Evenings/Night 12 hour shifts 2p-10 and/or 10p-6a Weekend requirement every other weekend 7pm-7am

SUMMARY:
The Off Shift Director of Nursing is a Nursing Leader who serves as a resource for problem solving provides clinical expertise facilitates staff mentoring and coaching facilitates patient flow during the off shifts (typically evenings nights weekends holidays)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees & assures short & long term Nursing Dept. staff schedules per established guidelines.
Facilitates units in emergency medical assessment & care of residents including interventions transportation & other resources needed.
Serves as a clinical resource person to staff in problem solving assessments special procedures & clinical skill enhancements.
Coordinates with the Nursing Staff resident units & admissions dept. the rapid admission of residents including obtaining evaluations as indicated.
Serves as adjunct to staff development coordinator in promoting planned in-services to nursing staff as per master schedule/plan.
Provides continuity of resident status with hospital supervisory staff and Nursing Administration.
Supervises the M.D.R. directing interacting with residents families and staff in providing safe pleasant mealtime and assuring appropriate completion of required records.
Serves as major facilitator in QA program for Nursing Dept. including completion of assessments of designated audits & resultant actions required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of two to three years of RN experience
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
Current New York State Registered Nurse License
Effective 1/1/2014 BLS required for all new candidates prior to hire.
BLS required for all internal team members by 12/31/2014.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations including continuing education requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience relevant qualifications specialty internal equity location and contracts.
