Job Summary

Intermech Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to support day-to-day accounting activities. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of construction accounting preferably at the specialized construction or subcontractor level. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and interacts regularly with the leadership team of the Company. As a subsidiary of a publicly held Fortune 500 company exposure to public reporting and internal controls management is integral to the position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operational Oversight: Manage daily accounting tasks including accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger maintenance.
  • Close Process Support:Support the timely completion of month-end Quarter End and Year-end closing procedures
  • Compliance & Controls:Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:Assist in creating company budgets cash forecasting and analyzing revenue/expenses.
  • Audit Coordination:Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Cash Flow: monitor cash flow ensuring that inflows and outflows are accurately tracked.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconciling accounts regularly maintaining financial transparency.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and eliminating bottlenecks in financial systems and procedures.
  • Technology Integration: Adopting and integrating software solutions that automate various functions for example: invoicing payroll financial and operational reporting.
  • Collaboration: work with project teams with respect to project accounting and material issues: billings collections change orders back charges close-outs labor and material costs and profit/loss analysis.
  • Asset Management: Manage all operating unit assets including fixed assets.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist with financial reporting including preparation dissemination and review of project work in progress reports.
  • Support CFO and Asst Controller: in the finance and accounting activities of the Company and other duties and responsibilities within the purview of this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Construction/Manufacturing accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years total experience in accounting preferred or work experience demonstrating accounting and analytical capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of federal state and city regulations and guidelines.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including advanced Excel formulas and formatting.
  • Proficient with payroll and accounting software.
  • Trimble Products: Vista Viewpoint Software Experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Windows based operating systems and web-based applications.
  • Ability to create file and manage electronic documents.

COMPENSATION RANGE: Annual base salary: $75000 - $90000 (DOQ)
