An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pharmacy Controllership team to support with value-add projects the integration of a recently acquired entity and cover for the team manager as an integral part of a small onshore Pharmacy Financial Control team.
What youll be doingWorking closely with the wider Healthcare Finance and Pharmacy teams and reporting to the Head of Finance Pharmacy Financial Control the Senior Finance Analyst is key in providing analytical support to the Pharmacy function across Boots UK and Ireland. As part of business as usual month end tasks and value-add projects they will be working closely with the offshore team our Pharmacy FP&A team business partners and the wider Pharmacy team maintaining a strong working relationship and communication and ensuring accurate and timely reporting and full compliance with GAAP and Group Policy.
Key responsibilities- Providing senior analyst capability and support within the financial control activities to support the Pharmacy functions across Boots UK & Ireland
- Support business initiatives with strong financial accounting & control as needed from time to time including changes to NHS processes
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships and effective ways of working with the BPO provider on all pharmacy tasks to ensure accurate deliverables and the swift resolution and/or escalation of queries and issues
- Working closely with the wider Pharmacy functions including Commercial Finance FP&A Pharmacy Operations to ensure continued awareness of relevant commercial issues and changes
- Provide back-up support to the Finance Manager Financial Control Pharmacy (L5) through cross training of tasks
- Our go to for the newly acquired Concepta Diagnostics Limited building relationships with the team integrating into our processes month end reporting ownership of accounts and statutory audit
- Ongoing automation simplification and process improvement work for all tasks and controls you own
What youll need to have (our must-haves)- Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACA ACCA CIMA etc.) accountant
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Strong team player with the ability to maintain strong working relationships within Finance and remote offshore teams and wider pharmacy team
- Experience using Excel and finance business systems
- Experience of SAP ECC/S4 and BW
It would be great if you also have- Understanding of Pharmacy in the UK and how its funded
- Experience of continuous improvement processes
