Position Summary

The focus of the assigned projects is on innovating developingand delivering new products in alignment withthe F5 Distributed Cloud platform.
As a Program Manager you are a key member of theProject Management Organization (PMO)supporting theEngineering/Operationsprojectteamsand willrepresentthe voice of both the developers and stakeholders to execute project planningdelivery and data reporting. The Technical Program Manager works closely with Product Management developers architects and operationsto define and prioritize features and stories to ensure alignment with customer and program needs and improve value of development.They should be able to handle multiple simultaneous projects that are complex or high-risk and be able to develop recovery strategies for projects that stray from their plan. Theyare able tomanage the collection of product requirements in a holistic manner andaimsto meet project goals with both quality and integrity.

PrimaryResponsibilities
Design buildandmaintainthe project plan including scope scheduleresources dependenciesandbudget;
Lead the gathering of product requirements and project scope in a holistic manner across multiple teams or businessfunctions;
Negotiate challenging priorities and navigate complex organizational dynamics to establish delivery plans and schedules that are in alignment with the objectivesset forth bythe organization and the company.
Proactivelyidentifyand resolve strategic issues that may impair the teams ability to meet delivery schedules.
Monitor progress to plan and design a recovery strategyif project deviates fromdeliveryschedules;
Provide data analytics to support operational process improvementand costreporting.
Design and deliver Executive-level presentations to support the governance process for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM);
Design and run effective program-level meetings to communicate status and coordinate efforts;
Conduct retrospectives on completed projects to support processpolicyand tool-set improvements;
Collaborate with peers managers and team members across the organization to solve problems developcontinuous improvementplansand coordinatework;
KnowledgeSkillsand Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively across written verbal and presentation formats to a variety of audiences from engineer to Executive;
Ability to develop a project schedule using work-breakdown techniques that lead to a defined critical path;
Ability to design and document a project charter that includes scope schedulebudgetand risk management plan;
Able to apply critical thinking techniques to analyze problems develop solutions build resourceforecastsor manage risk;
Ability to use either Waterfall or Agile methodologiesto handle projects which maycompriseboth software andhardware;
Ability to lead the gathering of product requirements and project scope across a multi-function team;
Ability to lead through influence to drive forward both the team and program;
Ability to manage andfacilitateteam meetings and initiatives to effectively develop plans and achievegoals;
Excellent time management and organizational skills and experienceestablishingguidelines in these areas forothers;
Strong working knowledge of technology companies or domains and the interplay between Marketing Product Development Manufacturing Customer SupportSalesand ProfessionalServices;
Expertisein the use of standard tools for project and portfolio management such as MS Project/MS Project Server;
Desired experience withAtlassian suite (Jira Confluence);
Expert skillsusing MS Excel PowerPointOutlookand Word.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
BSEE BSCS or other Engineering Technology collegiate degree;
Desired PMP certification with accompanying experience managing projects to a successful conclusion;
Desired AgileScrumMaster certifications(CSM A-CSM CSP-SM);
Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processesstrategiesand methods
Experience managing a geo-dispersed projectteam;
Experience working in a concurrent software development environment as part of a complex build and merge management process;
Minimum8 years experience (6 years withMasters Degree) managing projects at technology-based companies or technical domains;
Technology product development experience is highly desired.
