KS1 Teacher – Borehamwood

We are seeking a passionate confident and dedicated KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Borehamwood starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working in Key Stage 1 and is committed to supporting children as they develop foundational skills in literacy numeracy and social-emotional learning.

As a KS1 Teacher you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum to Years 1 and 2 ensuring lessons are engaging differentiated and meet the needs of all learners. You will foster independence resilience and a love of learning while supporting pupils academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the KS1 curriculum

• Create a positive inclusive and structured classroom environment

• Use assessment data to track progress and inform planning and interventions

• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL

• Promote positive behaviour independence and a love of learning

• Prepare pupils for end-of-Key Stage 1 assessments in a supportive way

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

• Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives

• Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 ideally Years 1 and 2

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements

• Be organised enthusiastic and proactive

• Have excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Be reflective adaptable and committed to professional development

• Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
