Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Redhill starting as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

The school has a strong focus on inclusion wellbeing and personalised learning. Staff work closely as a team to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of needs including ASD ADHD speech and language difficulties and social emotional and mental health needs. Senior leadership is highly supportive and ensures staff receive appropriate training guidance and professional development.

As an SEN Teacher you will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised learning programmes adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs and creating a safe structured and nurturing learning environment. You will work closely with teaching assistants the SENCo external professionals and families to ensure consistent and effective support for pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons tailored to pupils individual needs

  • Adapt the curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement

  • Use assessment and observation to monitor progress and adjust support strategies

  • Create a structured calm and inclusive learning environment

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants SENCo and external agencies

  • Develop and review individual education plans and support strategies

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress and support

  • Promote positive behaviour emotional regulation and independence

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and reports

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching pupils with SEN

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of SEN strategies and inclusive practice

  • Be patient empathetic and adaptable

  • Have excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Be reflective proactive and committed to professional development

  • Show a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
