This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) a student loan payment reimbursement program. There are multiple Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) positions available in the Mental Health Service at the Dayton VA Medical Center and Springfield Community Based Outpatient Clinic. Tour schedule will be discussed during interview.

LPMHC - Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Program (GS 9-11)
The incumbent functions as a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) in the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MH RRTP) located at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The position requires extensive work with MH RRTP Veterans diagnosed with substance use and mental health disorders as well as those who are homeless. The substance use and mental health population of Veterans will receive a variety of therapeutic services such as medication assisted therapy addiction education evidenced based psycho-education psychotherapy group therapy case management discharge planning and service coordination. NOTE: The incumbent may be required to perform (50%) of their job duties in the community and will be required to utilize a GSA Vehicle while performing such duties. The Social Worker will successfully complete all facility requirements to drive a GSA Vehicle and transport Veterans. This includes all pre-employment addition the incumbent will successfully complete all facility required TMS trainings to drive a GSA Vehicle and transport Veterans. LPMHC - Integrated Care (GS-11) - Springfield OH
The incumbent is assigned as Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) in Integrated Care (IC) who works at the interface between primary care (PC) and/or specialty medicine (SM) in an integrated care model. The position is assigned to the Mental Health Service and requires extensive work with Veterans diagnosed with medical conditions mental illness and substance use disorders (SUD). This position also requires advanced training in the management of crisis situations. The IC LPMHC assures adequate identification and treatment of a variety of emotional and psychiatric problems of Veterans in a PC and/or SM setting. The incumbent works closely with Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT) and other specialty medicine providers to provide brief assessment brief intervention and mental health support for Veterans in collaboration with the treating medical providers. (2) Such employees in an occupation that requires a licensure/certification/registration only at higher grade levels must meet the licensure/certification/registration requirement before they can be promoted to those higher grade levels;
(3) Employees who are appointed on a temporary basis prior to the effective date of the qualification standard may not have their temporary appointment extended or be reappointed on a temporary or permanent basis until they fully meet the basic requirements of the standard;
(4) If an employee who was retained (grandfathered) under this provision leaves that occupation the employee loses protected status and must meet the full VA qualification standard requirements in effect at the time of reentry to the occupation.
(5) Employees initially grandfathered into this occupation who subsequently obtain additional education and/or licensure/certification/registration that meet all the basic requirements of this qualification standard must maintain the required credentials as a condition of employment in the occupation.
