What youll be doing

As aConsultant Regulatory Operationswithin the OTC Derivatives team in Capital Markets Operations at CIBC you will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust operational controls and regulatory compliance for Capital Markets Regulatory Trade Reporting. You will provide leadership subject matterexpertise and oversight of control processes while collaborating with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

How youll succeed

  • Operational Controls & Compliance - Lead and oversee the execution of operational controls related to regulatory trade reporting. Participate in control testing and project initiatives with a focus on designing and implementing new controls to meet evolving regulatory requirements across multiplejurisdictions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop a clear product vision that aligns with regulatory requirements. Present findings performance metrics and recommendations to business partners and executives ensuring transparency and accountability in regulatory reporting.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting - Utilize advanced analytical skills to assess data from diverse internal and external sourcesidentifyinggaps and opportunities for improvement in trade reporting. Develop actionable insights to enhance data quality and compliance.
  • Control Deficiency Management - Establish standards foridentifyingand quantifying control deficiencies. Develop escalation paths and track issues through to full resolution ensuringtimelyremediation and continuous improvement.
  • Product Knowledge - Demonstrate extensive knowledge of repurchase/reverse repo transactions (REPO) securities lending and borrowing (SLEB) and a broad range of OTC derivative products. Apply both theoretical and practical understanding of derivative transaction structures and underlying finance principles.
  • Reconciliation - Perform reconciliations of capitalmarketsderivatives data including trade economicsand valuations to supportaccurateregulatory reporting. Leverage at least 2 years of experience in reconciliation processes within capital markets.

Who you are

  • You have 3-5 years of relevant business experience in capitalmarketsoperations or regulatory reporting with strong knowledge of data systems operational processes and regulatory trade reporting requirements including SFTR (mandatory) MiFID II and EMIR.
