    Full Time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher with the Early Intervention Team
    New Hope Learning Center

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Reports to appropriate special education supervisory staff and principals.
    • Provides support and special education services to students in the Early Intervention program.
    • Perform necessary assessment and evaluation procedures for special education students.
    • Conduct home or community site visits using coaching and evidenced based early intervention practices.
    • Provide an individualized family service plan for infants/toddlers and their caregivers based upon needs identified by evaluation.
    • Follow necessary due process procedures and case management responsibilities including following the Primary Service Provider model.
    • Be an advocate for students/families and assist in carrying out department and school district goals.
    • Collaborate with Early Learning and district colleagues other specialists and outside agencies.
    • Communicate with IFSP team members and families/caregivers.
    • Active engagement in professional development opportunities.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelors degree
    • Current Minnesota Early Childhood Special Education lic


    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • The employee is frequently required to stoop kneel crouch or crawl and get up and down from the floor independently.
    • The employee must have a valid drivers license and ability to drive themselves to and from homes/community sites within the district boundaries.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for students who are wheelchair-bound and students with other special needs.
