Full Time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
New Hope Learning Center

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans curriculum lessons and teaching methods.
Reports to appropriate special education supervisory staff and principals.
Provides support and special education services to students in the ECSE program.
Perform necessary assessment and evaluation procedures for special education students.
Provide an individualized educational program for students based upon needs identified by evaluation.
Follow necessary due process procedures and case management responsibilities.
Facilitate inclusive opportunities when appropriate.
Be an advocate for students and assist in carrying out department and school district goals.
Collaborate with Early Learning and district colleagues other specialists and outside agencies.
Supervise and direct the work of non-licensed support staff in the classroom.
Communicate with IEP team members and families/caregivers.
Active engagement in professional development opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree
Current Minnesota Early Childhood Special Education license

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Frequently required to stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for students who are wheelchair-bound and students with other special needs.
