Whats the role

As part of Westpacs Corporate Insights Group youll be the go to person for turning complex financial information into clear insights that help our institutional clients make smarter funding and risk management decisions. Youll work closely with senior originators to help our institutional clients meet their financial objectives via capital structure modelling ratings analysis and appropriate hedging solutions. You will collaborate across Financial Markets and the wider Institutional Bank helping design practical solutions for clients and presenting your work with clarity and confidence. This role is preferably based in Sydney (also open to Melbourne) operating within a small high performing team where your analytical strengths will shine.

What do I need

Youll thrive in this role if youre someone who enjoys digging into the detail shaping clear insights from complex information and collaborating with smart people to create meaningful outcomes for clients. Youll bring:

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear insights.
  • A solid understanding of institutional banking and debt market products including when and why theyre used.
  • A strong understanding of the debt capital markets and intimate knowledge of the key drivers for credit rating analysis.
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Excel applications programming tools and proactive idea generation to both internal colleagues and clients.
  • The ability to collaborate in a small team and build effective working relationships across multiple business areas.
