Monroe Health Center is seeking a full-time Payroll & Accounts Payable Clerk working at the MHC Business Office in Union WV.
The Payroll & Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organization by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing accounts payable support and related financial functions. This position is 40 hours per week working Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Great benefit package!
Essential duties and responsibilities are listed below:
Payroll & Timekeeping
- Utilize time and attendance and payroll software to process employee hours worked paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay
- Review bi-weekly timesheets for accuracy and completeness
- Verify employee payroll deductions including benefits garnishments and other withholdings
- Transmit payroll data to the payroll service vendor in a timely and accurate manner
- Record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll deductions and timekeeping
- Assist with the preparation of payroll-related journal entries
Accounts Payable & Financial Support
- Assist the CFO with accounts payable functions including invoice review and processing
- Reconcile and process reimbursement of petty cash expenditures for all MHC sites
Provider Credentialing
- Assist with provider credentialing processes including documentation tracking and coordination as needed
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FQHC requirements HRSA regulations and applicable federal and state laws
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll financial and employee information
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with payroll experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of payroll systems time and attendance software and accounting principles
- Familiarity with federal and state payroll tax regulations
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft and other standard office applications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
