About our engineering work experience

Our work experience is for students in years 10 to 13 (or equivalent) local to our headquarters site in Wotton-under-Edge Gloucestershire. We offer two schemes:

Engineering

Gain a greater understanding of what a career in engineering entails
Learn about Renishaws product development process
Work alongside our engineers

What will you gain from a work experience week at Renishaw

Meet and hear from some of our staff about their roles in the business
Develop problem solving and critical thinking skills as well as communication and presentation skills
Learn how to work effectively in a team
Understand more about Renishaws early career opportunities
Use the experience to help you make decisions about next steps/future career plans

Please note this opportunity isnt shadowing like some other companies offer. Its a structured week that gives you the chance to discover what a global innovative company is really like learn from our brilliant engineers and develop essential skills for your future.

Our 2026 work experience programme:

Engineering: Monday 6th July to Friday 10th July (onsite at New Mills Wotton-under-Edge GL12 8JR).

You will not be able to get to the site by public transport so please ensure you either have your own transport or can get a lift before applying.

Duration: 4.5 days (with an earlier finish on Friday).
Timings: 9.00am 3.30pm (finishing at 12.30 on Friday).

You must be available on all of the dates specified for any week that you select.

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any placements outside of these dates.
