Although this position reports centrally into the IT campus other locations across the province may be considered subject to space availability and operational requirements. What youll do

Responsibilities

As the School Manager School of Access Education and Language you will provide leadership and direction for developing and stewarding sector-specific programming and strategies for the College in the following clusters: Academic Upgrading & Skills Development Educations and Language and Cultures.

You will provide leadership in all aspects of program and curriculum development and evaluation as well as building and maintaining relationships with key external and internal stakeholders to ensure that this programming mix is current relevant and meeting the evolving industry and community needs.

As a key member of the School of Access Education and Language Leadership team you will provide strategic advice and expertise to the Dean to contribute to the overall direction and implementation of School programming and priorities. You will work with Academic Chairs Faculty and staff to provide leadership for School and College priorities and work in partnership with different government agencies and community organizations.

You will develop and leverage internal and external relationships to identify new programming and project opportunities for the School of Access Education and Language across Certificate Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs as well as Continuing Education Customized Training and across multiple delivery modes. You will provide leadership in supporting the development of pathways for under-represented and marginalized populations. You may also develop and lead in applied research and innovation initiatives which contribute to the growth and development of the key industry sectors in the province.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in Education Social Sciences or a related field.
  • A Masters degree in Education would be considered an asset.
  • A Project Management designation would be considered an asset.
  • You have a minimum of 7 years of recent and related occupational leadership experience of a results-oriented team.
  • Occupational leadership experience in post-secondary would be considered an asset.
  • Occupational leadership experience in adult education management and program management would be considered an asset.
  • Occupational leadership experience in the Nova Scotia P-12 system would be considered an asset.
  • Experience developing and managing strategy plans and projects.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets.
  • Proven track record in building internal and external relationships.
  • Specific areas or required demonstrated experience include analytical skills strong technical writing and communication skills interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite E-mail.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.
  • You have experience in training/facilitation preparation delivery and evaluation.
