If selected for this position you will join a well-respected team in the Administrative Division that is responsible for performing a variety of complex procedural and technical duties related to the formulation and execution of the district budget and financial management activities. Typical work assignments include:
GS-5: To be eligible at the GS-5 level you must have: at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level; or four years of education above the high school level; or a combination of both specialized experience and education as explained below.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support using automated office systems such as word processing spreadsheets electronic mail and databases for gathering and reporting information; filing and records management; reviewing data for erroneous issues; researching legal and regulatory material to obtain factual information for use by others.

Combining Education and Experience: Successfully completed post-high school education may be used to meet the total one year of specialized experience requirement equivalent to the GS-4 grade level. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
GS-6:To be eligible at the GS-6 level you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in Federal service.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting higher level budget officers/analyst in monitoring a units operating budget; preparing routine payments; running recurring reports and inputting data into an automated financial management system; reviewing documents with financial implications to ensure they are accurate and complete; preparing travel forms and assisting staff with use of automated travel system.
GS-7: To be eligible at the GS-7 level you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in Federal service.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing analysis of financial data to determine trends in obligations and expenditures; resolving routine budget inquiries; reconciling costs/accounts on a scheduled basis; preparing invoices and other fiscal items for payment; noting clarifying and correcting financial discrepancies; reviewing budget estimates for obvious omissions format incompleteness or inaccurate data; and entering obligations amendments deliveries and all actions into an automated financial management system.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
