The Internship Experience
As a WM Intern you wont be sitting on the sidelines youll be in the mix. You will work alongside experienced professionals on real projects that make an impact for WM. Youll get real-world experience in key aspects of our business including a meaningful project youll own and present to senior leaders at the end of the summer while discovering what were all about. Outside of your core work youll join skill-building workshops connect with leaders through executive roundtables and build community with fellow interns from across the country. About the Digital Team
This internship is part of the Digital crew a team known for its innovative thinking collaborative spirit and dedication to striving for excellence. Youll get to explore a suite of applications that power landfill and transferstation operations including major systems like OTM LSIM NDCS and Fastlanethe POS platform used across landfill sites for efficient transaction processing. These tools enable accurate scalehouse operations realtime data capture and smooth customer interactions ensuring reliable throughput at WM facilities.
Together these disposal and POS applications form the core technology backbone that keeps WMs field operations running safely efficiently and with strong financial accountability. You will learn how things work behind the scenes and help WM drive purpose in everything we do. Whether youre diving into data pitching ideas or helping make things run smoother what you do will matterand we want to hear what you think.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Uses problem solving skills determines problems and understand fundamental parts of the problem.
- Conducts analysis as directed and prepares and delivers insights and recommendations based on analysis.
- Synthesizes findings and draws conclusions from analyses and makes oral/written recommendations to supervisor and/or manager.
- Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.
- Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
- This role will be a mixture of 50% writing software and 50% functional business analysis
- Familiarity with software enhancememts and bug fixes.
III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
- Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelors degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship.

- Office: This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers phones copy machines etc.
- This internship is required to be onsite Monday through Thursday at our downtown Houston Headquarters with a flexible work from home day on Friday. Candidate smust be located in Houston TX or surrounding areas.
