The primary purpose of this position: To serve as an assistant to the Antiterrorism and Force Protection Planner S-5 Branch Chief and the Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) and unit-level security and antiterrorism representatives. Also assist in administering the installations antiterrorism and force protection programs.
DUTY 1: Assists in developing local Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) and Law Enforcement Operations policies for the Antiterrorism and Force Protection Planner S-5 Branch Chief and the Antiterrorism Officers approval.
DUTY 2: Supports the AT/FP Planner on matters involving Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) issues.
DUTY 3: Assists with site security studies projects assessments and training activities in relationship to antiterrorism and force protection requirements.
DUTY 4: Develops local security forces operating instructions special security instructions security forces wing-level plans integrated defense plan and policies for the security forces commanders approval.
In order to qualify you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions Administrative and Management Positions GS-0080 series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 (or higher) grade level or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: 1) Applying knowledge of commonly applied security concepts principles and practices to review analyze and resolve moderately complex security problems. 2) Providing knowledge of DoD and Air Force antiterrorism and force protection doctrine policies and instructions to coordinate objectives and develop plans for interrelated security programs. 3) Using knowledge of security program relationships to make recommendations allowing for differing program requirements and multiple security objectives. 4) Gathering assembling and analyzing facts; drawing conclusions; devising solutions to problems; identifying changes and trends; and preparing and presenting information to leadership. 5) Prioritizing and recommending resource strategies for the correction or mitigation of AT vulnerabilities on the installation. 6) Assisting evaluation teams in developing realistic and relevant scenarios to exercise and validate the AT program.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application.
OR L.B or J.D. D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application.
ORCOMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
