Job Description:
Role purpose
- Supporting in implementation and monitoring of HSE Management System across sites
- You are responsible for your specific site field workers (if any) and contractors working within your site are compliant with Group and local HSE requirements. The SA BU HSE Lead will provide support and guidance on Environmental legislation and best practice
- You must assist in monitoring and delivering of all statutory and regulatory compliances
- You must work closely with the Operation & Support Teams present on the site to raise awareness of HSE
- You must attend your weekly HSE Meetings with the SA BU HSE Lead and prepare material for this within specific timeframes
- You must lead on the HSE Management System for the SA BU in the absence of the SA BU HSE Lead and attend the weekly Divisional BU HSE Leads meeting to represent SA sites
- You must ensure appropriate and timely investigation of all RIDDOR events (or international equivalent) (Reporting of Injuries Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) reportable events incidents and HIPos (High Potential Near Misses) as well as identify corrective actions and track to completion for your respective site.
- You must ensure CASPER for your site is updated regularly and complete required tasks in a timely manner
- You must have monthly meetings with the HSE Champions from all teams at your site
- You must report compliance to HSE KPIs to the SA BU HSE Lead and create improvement plans where necessary
- You must ensure the Senior Management for your site is informed of HSE KPI performance
- You must communicate the HSE Policy HSE Standard and HSE Management System to the appropriate levels within your Operational areas ensuring all positions are aware of their responsibilities for all HSE requirements through induction and periodic training and awareness sessions
- You must undertake site assurance (including site inspections) events and raise corrective actions tracking to completion to ensure implementation and sustainment against the company HSE Management System
- You must prepare and disseminate appropriate HSE reports for the HSE committee meeting line managers and employees
- You must provide updated HSE KPI metrics to the SA BU HSE Lead with improvement plans as necessary and disseminate to your site and coordinate with the SA Site HSE Leads
- You must be part of the documented HSE Escalation process and adhere to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) as depicted in section 10 of the HSE Standard
- You must carry out & maintain appropriate HSE risk assessments for your site
- You must actively participate in internal & external HSE audits for your site (ISO R&C and other client audits)
- You must participate in all HSE initiatives and drive it for your site
- Other HSE related tasks as directed by the SA BU HSE Lead / Divisional CE or Group HSE
COVID-19 Management
- Supporting implementation & monitoring of COVID-19 appropriate behaviours for your site
- Sharing daily self-declaration report for your site
- You are responsible for your site specific COVID-19 reports and dashboard
- You must support the vaccination drive for your site
Qualifications / Experience:
Qualification:
- SAMTRAC (Safety Management Training Course) or Equivalent (preferred)
OR
- OHS Coordinator in the workplace proficiency course with at least 18 months of relevant experience
Experience:
- 18 months experience in implementation and monitoring of HSE Management System
- Knowledge of ISO Standards 45001 and 14001 (preferred)
- Experience in managing incidents / accidents and undertaking investigations at the workplace
- MS Office proficiency
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Auditing experience (desirable)
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts and weekends and being on call
- Must be ready to travel to other sites if required (transportation will be provided)
- Experience in MIS & Reporting
