The primary purpose of this position is: to remove install modify overhaul maintain troubleshoot repair align calibrate and rebuild multisystem avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems instrument systems environmental systems radar communications and navigation systems. Serves as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) providing training to assigned personnel in the accomplishment of tasks herein.
DUTIES:
DUTY1: Performs ultrasonic inspections/testing (UT) of critical aerospace components subcomponents support equipment and other materials for which inspection procedures may or may not exist when acceptability standards are inadequate or not available.
DUTY 2: Perform eddy current inspections/testing (ET) of critical aerospace components subcomponents support equipment and other materials for which inspection procedures may or may not exist when acceptability standards are inadequate or not available.
DUTY 3: Perform unshielded and shielded industrial radiographic (x-ray) inspections/testing (RT) to include computed radiography of critical aerospace components subcomponents support equipment and other materials for which inspection procedures may or may not exist when acceptability standards are inadequate or not available.
DUTY 4: Performs stationary and portable fluorescent magnetic particle inspections/testing (MT) and fluorescent penetrant inspections/testing (PT) of critical aerospace components subcomponents support equipment and other materials for which inspection procedures may or may not exist when acceptability standards are inadequate or not available.
DUTY 5: Performs trend analysis of aircraft oil wetted systems utilizing the Oil Analysis Program (OAP).
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-3700 Metal Processing Family. WG 3705 series dated May 1969. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work under normal supervision.
