Responsibilities:
- Plans budgets and schedules facility equipment and service deliveries installations maintenance modifications upkeep and availability including building project plans and cost estimates.
- Responsible for maintaining and overseeing health and safety standards for the facility team and trainees including participation in emergency coordination and response.
- Provide support to the Utilities/Facilities Site Leader in the development of facilities maintenance group optimization strategies operational budget planning long range planning and support of facility capital projects
- Selects develops and evaluates personnel to ensure sustainable effective and efficient facility operations.
- Provide support to the design start-up and commissioning and qualification of the sites facilities and engineering business systems required.
- Work and act as an agent of change while working effectively to ensure compliance and implement best practices as appropriate.
- Participates in internal audits/inspections
- Prepare performance metrics reports.
- Accountable for developing and executing strategies related to equipment relocation
- In collaboration with Procurement drives vendor selection management and resource optimization for facility services
- Recommend solutions and implements appropriate corrective action for major or complex maintenance issues using good documentation practices
- Manage projects related to space planning construction buildouts reconfiguration and/or installation of furniture fixtures and equipment in new and existing spaces.
- Manage exempt and/or non-exempt staff developing and administering goals and objectives for each employee throughout the year providing leadership guidance corrective or coaching action where necessary to ensure success in their required functions.
- Responsible for facility inspections for quality assurance on a periodic basis. Ensures facility procedures comply with local state and federal regulations.
- Produces and maintains various facility management reports.
- Actively work within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure contract work and documentation of that work is completed timely accurately and completely. Conduct random quality checks and provide coaching as needed.
- Provides subject matter expertise when it is needed across the entire contract.
- Accurately and timely conducts performance evaluations with direct staff members. Provide incremental feedback throughout the year for consistent improvements. Supports same efforts with indirect staff members.
- Manage and be accountable for all aspects of employee management i.e. timekeeping leave usage performance hiring disciplining coaching and terminating.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:
- Bachelors Degree Engineering Science or related fields highly preferred
- Advanced degree in Engineering plus and equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 8 years of hands-on facilities management and maintenance operations experience.
- Experience in pharmaceutical medical device biotechnology and/or consumer industry facility and equipment layout installation and calibration.
- Previous experience with utilities engineering maintenance computerized systems and validation activities in a GMP environment is required.
- Experience maintaining building and facility support equipment monitoring facilities equipment and systems to ensure
- proper operation within guidelines/specifications and reporting performance on a regular basis to management and peers.
- Experience working on cross functional teams to obtain project deliverables.
- Experience in health safety and compliance standards.
- Experience with systems investigation and root cause analysis tools
- Experience with a CMMS or asset preventive maintenance program.
- Knowledge on Project Management.
- Experience with emergency response management.
- Strongoperational experience and experience of dealing inachallengingenvironment.
- Demonstrated experience working within scopes of work/performance work statements.
- Demonstrated experience developing managing and hiring various skilled trade roles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and projects to sustain facility capabilities.
- Demonstrated management and leadership ability and experience developing teams and mentoring staff members.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook Excel and Word; MS Project is a plus.
- Ability to climb ladders work in confined spaces and work on steep and uneven ground.
- Working knowledge of scientific and engineering principles.
- Knowledge of and experience with mechanical electrical HVAC boilers steam electrical plumbing controls and life safety systems.
- Excellent communications skills to explain information and influence others to secure successful implementation of Facilities and Engineering programs and directives as assigned.
- Able to build and manage a team as well as train entry-level personnel.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger handle feel or operate equipments tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand walk talk or hear; sit; climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions near moving mechanical parts exposed to wet and or humid conditions and an odorous atmosphere may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock and occasionally work on ladders in high places in small spaces such as lift/metering stations manholes tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
