Position Summary: Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records. Assists Pharmacist in coordination of technician activities for a shift or a functional area within the pharmacy. Assists Manager in training competency validation coaching of staff for adherence to standard work maintenance of key records and is a content expert for the primary area of assignment. Provides courteous cooperative and timely service to patients visitors and staff.
Qualifications: High school education or of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program; or two years of college with emphasis in math science or medical field of PTCB Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certificate preferred.
Credentials/Licensure:Certified and licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in the State of Michigan.
Related Experience:
Minimumfive years of inpatient pharmacy work experience. At least two years as a Pharmacy Technician IV with consistent experience making simple and complex IV Admixtures including chemotherapy and other hazardous medication compounding.
Variable work hours Weekends may be required
