Rate of Pay: 15.85 - 20.69 per hour
Summary:
As a Youth Training Tutor for Newport City Council you will play a pivotal role in shaping the futures of young people. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design delivery and performance of commissioned youth training programmes. Your primary focus is to provide an engaging high-quality learning environment that promotes positive progression. By balancing classroom delivery with rigorous administrative compliance you will ensure that all learners achieve their qualifications while meeting the standards required by Awarding Organisations and funding bodies.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of achievement striving for high retention rates and successful transitions to exit routes (further education or employment).
- Build and maintain positive one-to-one and group relationships to motivate learners particularly those from vulnerable or challenging backgrounds.
- Ensure all administrative procedures relating to learner and class delivery are accurate and comply with funding requirements.
- Maintain all records in accordance with Council and Awarding Organisation standards.
- Work closely with the Manager to ensure the programme meets all quality and performance benchmarks.
- Actively implement the Councils Equality Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies.
- Take full responsibility for the safety and well-being of all learners while on the programme.
Qualifications:
- Educated to a minimum NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Teaching qualification: PTLLS IAG PGCE or equivalent.
- Current registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
Essentials:
- Strong current knowledge of educational practices and curriculum-based work.
- Extensive experience working with challenging and vulnerable young people including a deep understanding of professional boundaries.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding issues.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires an Enhanced DBS
