The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to manage the unit Air Transportation Quality Assurance program; assist the aerial port senior ART in managing day-to-day activities and provide training to reservists.
Provide support and recommendations to the senior Air Reserve Technician (ART) in directing resource management supply system and general accounting system to monitor expenditures correct discrepancies and revise requirements of the Aerial Port Squadron.
Develop Aerial Ports Air Transportation Standardization/Evaluation (ATSEV) quarterly summary reports and conduct analysis of deficiencies and error trends based on data collected during an identified summary period and compares to trends from previous summary reports.
Review systems such as Air Transportation Web Based Training (ATWBT) Training Business Area (TBA) and compares to the Commands Training and Evaluation List (CTEL) for UTC compliance. Identify deficiencies develop reports and brief leadership.
Coordinate with the unit training manager when needed. Conduct follow-up on Unit Type Code (UTC) qualification and readiness plans implementation for compliance milestones adherence and adequacy.
Manage Unit Training Assembly (UTA) training schedule based on unit annual training plan budgets and any changes from the UTA planning meeting.
In order to qualify you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements for 2101 Group Standard for Administrative & Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes experience planning monitoring and coordinating aerial port programs to resolve operational issues; overseeing all Aerial Port operations and mobility readiness; and advising on the management of resources supply systems and accounting to ensure the proper monitoring of expenditures and revision of requirements.

EDUCATION: Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a degree with a major of study in accounting business administration business or commercial law commerce economics engineering finance industrial management statistics traffic management transportation motor mechanics or other fields related to the position. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT TO VERIFY YOUR EDUCATION. FAILURE TO SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPT WILL RESULT IN AN INELIGIBLE RATING.

1. Knowledge of a varied range of Aerial Port transportation concepts principles practices to include Aerial Port policies and operations supervisory roles squadron training program deployment processes budget and resource management.
2. Knowledge of Air Transportation Unit Type Code (UTC) mission capabilities and directives to assist in the management and implementation of unit programs for the aerial port squadron.
3. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to solve issues and/or formulate solutions to complex Aerial Port problems.
4. Knowledge of and skill in using automated systems to prepare reports and extract data from them and the ability to analyze automated products to determine adequacy of program and/or deficiencies.
5. Ability to analyze plan and adjust work operations of support functions/organization segments to meet mission requirements and unit objectives within available resource constraints.
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing clearly concisely and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.

Air Reserve Technicians are part of the regular civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil addition ARTs are required to maintain active membership in an Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy Air Reserve Technician positions. As members of reserve units ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per addition they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
