Job Summary

The Role

Ororas Cans business is growing! With rising demand across Australia New Zealand and Oceania were investing $140M into our Rocklea facility ensuring we can continue to meet growing customer needs. This investment includes a new high-speed can body line boosting our capacity by 50% and featuring cutting-edge decoration and quality systems.

The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team of between 4-6 mechanical fitters ensuring the safe reliable and efficient operation of the sites equipment and services. Youll play a key role in planning and executing preventative maintenance activities responding to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to keep the back end of the plant running smoothly.
Please note: you will be expected to start around 6/6:30am

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a portion of mechanical fitters providing clear direction and day-to-day supervision
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance activities to support plant reliability and production outcomes
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Manage work orders spare parts and maintenance planning through the sites CMMS ensuring accurate close-out
  • Coordinate external labour and service providers supervising contractors as required
  • Liaise with production engineering and other stakeholders to prioritise work and resolve issues
  • Promote strong safety quality housekeeping and continuous improvement practices across the team
  • Support and contribute to CAPEX projects within your area including planning contractor coordination and commissioning activities

About You

  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Proven experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess issues and implement practical solutions
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience with the confidence to coach employees and contractors
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to plan prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • A safety-first mindset with a proactive and collaborative approach to leadership
