About the role

We have a 2 year fixed term opportunity for a Senior Engineer Mechanical Design joining our engineering team. Youll undertake lead and delivers quality planning definition design and design management services on multiple complex projects across WA. Also providing a centre of expertise technical support and advice to planners designers constructors and operators as well as set our standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to help Water Corporation adopt more sustainable reliable and easier approach to providing one of lifes essentials water. The role will be based in our Leederville office and will report to our Team Lead Mechanical Design.

What the role will involve

  • Plan and manage the development and delivery of complex designs and reports for the solution of engineering problems using in-house or external resources
  • Prepare briefs for engagement of consultants; evaluate consultant proposals and makes recommendations
  • Manage the planning definition and design of projects by consultants and review outputs and performance for conformity to appropriate design criteria client requirements and to agreed time and cost
  • Manage the preparation of tender documents and undertake tender analysis
  • Deliver engineering designs or mechanical engineering advice for the solution of engineering problems using in-house or external resources
  • Provide advice to and liaise with internal customers external suppliers service agencies consultants industry regulators and agencies in relation to infrastructure design
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of mechanical engineering standards and product specifications

About you

Youll have a degree level qualification in mechanical engineering along with experience in relation to design and management of delivery of infrastructure assets. Youll also have experience in the preparation of detailed designs and review of technical reports and tender specifications for significant pumping system and/or valve complexes. Your demonstrated leadership and ability to collaborate negotiate and influence both senior internal and external stakeholders will ensure success in this role. Previous water related professional engineering experience is advantageous but not essential.
