Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security within U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations Centers of Excellence and Expertise. The selection will be made and oversight of this position will be maintained by the Field Office but the physical location of this position will remain in the duty location chosen. In this role you will be responsible for directing and coordinating administrative operations performed by a Center of Excellence and Expertise team tasked with enforcing statutory regulatory and treaty requirements on behalf of CBP and other federal and state agencies. You will ensure a uniform and consistent approach within your assigned industry making nationwide and account-based determinations on merchandise admissibility and other import-related decisions to support CBPs mission effectively.
This position starts at a salary of $106437.00 (GS-13 Step 1) to $138370.00 (GS-13 Step 10).
Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and if applicable will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.

Supervisory Probationary Period: You may be required to serve an 18 month supervisory probationary period upon appointment and complete a supervisory training course within 12 months of assignment.
Supervisory Training: All newly appointed first-time permanent CBP Supervisors are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment. The duration of the training will include Supervisory Leadership Training (SLT) - three (3) weeks of in residence training in Harpers Ferry WV. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed.
Training: You may be required to attend and successfully complete seven (7) weeks of Import Specialist training at the Field Office Training Academy in Charleston SC. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed.
Travel: You will be required to travel occasionally.
