| Job Description: | University of Florida Department of Recreational Sports The Reservations & Events Program Assistant plays an integral role on the RecSports team and serves as a liaison between professional staff registered student organizations and external groups. The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the daily operations of events and reservation requests including intake coordination communication processing and invoicing of all event items for RecSports. RecSports Team Member Responsibilities - Develop professional relationships with co-workers participants and guests
- Uphold and exceed the expectations of the Cornerstones of RecSports Service: accountability anticipating needs attitude and atmosphere
- Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a RecSports ambassador
- Take ownership of RecSports facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic
- Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding RecSports facilities
- Enforce RecSports policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction
- Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre- and post- incident procedures
- All RecSports employees are expected to abide by the RecSports Student Staff Code of Conduct that clarifies shared expectations and standards in effort to best serve our patrons develop each team member and prepare student employees for future career endeavors.
Unit Specific Job Responsibilities - Manage facility requests and reservation processes for all RecSports facilities including Lake Wauburg
- Assist with ensuring compliance with UF Event Policies for all RecSports Reservations
- Assist with internal reservation requests for all RecSports facilities and spaces
- Communicate regularly with RecSports team members registered student organizations and external groups
- Coordinate event logistics and management with attention to detail including night and weekend event days/times
- Provide exceptional customer service to groups and individuals requesting use of RecSports spaces
- Recruit staff to assist with event management
- Oversee equipment reservation processes for events
- Assist in documentation of RecSports policies and invoicing of all events
- Assist with event tracking

| Minimum Requirements: | - First Aid CPR AED certification or ability to attain it within first week of employment - Able to work 20 hours/week including some night and weekend hours on-call hours and some academic breaks - Complete and maintain UF online certifications: GET803 PRV802 ITT102 GET811 OOC101 This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week and additional hours with an approved hours extension form. *Federal Work Study students are encouraged to apply. |
