Job Title:Senior Capital Planning Specialist

Position Summary:

The Senior Capital Planning Specialist will play a key role on the team responsible for the delivery of the capital investment commitment within the Companys business plan. The Specialist will serve on a centralized team for capital investment management working closely with the Operations Information Technology Customer Service and Operation Services personnel that are responsible for capital deployment of both projects and programs. The position will assist in leveraging industry best practices and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively along with the Capital Investment Management team develops and implements a standardized capital investment reporting and evaluation process that drives accountability for execution of the capital plan throughout the organization.
  • Analyze investment opportunities conduct financial modeling and prepare reports to assist in decision-making on capital allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data assess risks and identify potential investment strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand and implement industry best practices for capital deployment and management.
  • Develop and present investment proposals including outlining potential returns risks and strategic implications to senior leadership and others as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of key performance indicators that measure the Companys ability to deploy capital in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Support and actively champion the capital investment improvement roadmap throughout the organization.
  • Continuously assess and provide suggestions for enhancement of capital investment processes and methodologies to improve decision-making efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong professional and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of capital planning software.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with capital governance maintenance and administration.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Storm team duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in finance business administration or other related discipline required.
  • 10 years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or additional certifications in business finance accounting or other related disciplines preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills strategic thought partnership and ability to influence others.
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Word PowerPoint Excel etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and think critically.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Approaches work with intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn.
  • Demonstrates high level of professionalism and accountability.

Scope

In addition to daily deliverables outputs and reporting also considers and recommends longer term best practices to improve processes based on experience. Accountable for managing ones own time and work flow and may also lead functional project teams. Works independently requiring guidance in only the most complex situations. Has well established capabilities acts as a resource to less experienced staff on complex issues.

Decision Impact

Problems and issues faced are vague and require reasoning to identify root cause. Draws on significant past experience to perform role. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.

Hybrid Work

Position follows our hybrid work model with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Storm Roles

All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position as duties can vary across the Company.Examples of storm roles could include but arent limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information etc.

Data Governance

Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
