The Role
Contribute to the overall success of the Middle Office ensuring specific individual goals plans initiatives areexecuted/delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conductedare in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.
The Manager will be responsible for a broad array of operational duties including ScotiaRed Client platformsupport trade administration onboarding and enablement compliance monitoring and client services.
The Manager will also work closely with the MO Management Team in the identification initiation researchand development of process solutions across the MO business lines with the intent of improving overalloperational efficiency/effectiveness while ensuring that compliance risk and regulatory issues are adhered to.
Is this role right for you In this role you will:
- Operating independently identifying and resolving issues with minimal oversight. Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships systems and knowledge. Oversee client relationship/liaison management Work closely with front-office staff external clients/counterparties and back-office utility streams to ensure the seamless processing of all transactions.
- Support Front-office and client related queries that relate to trade processing and the initial on1boarding/enablement and on-going maintenance as well as resolving issues related to ScotiaRed platform access trade booking and settlement and user management.
- Champions a culture of continuous operational improvement by independently resolving highly complex multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs across MO with a specific focus on creating tangible / measurable operational efficiencies. This involves opportunity identification preparing proposals defining business requirements and processes developing testing conversion and implementation strategies developing detailed project plans monitoring progress against planned objectives and securing consensus and co-operations from users and senior management.
- Performing daily operational activities in support of GBM business lines with a focus on trade life cycle management and Client Service
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk regulatory compliance risk AML/ATF risk and conduct risk including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role Wed love to work with you if you have:
- Prior experience in industry or academia in in the areas of capital markets finance and banking and/or process improvement business analysis and solution implementation
- Solid knowledge/experience in banking/capital markets operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate influence and interact professionally with a diverse group of Front Office Users QAs Developers and SMEs
- Demonstrated knowledge of analytical problem solving and process engineering techniques (i.e. process mapping and analysis techniques)
- Strong technical abilities including knowledge of WSSFX ScotiaRed Admin platform Murex preferred (experience in SQL VBA Access Excel preferred) and a sound understanding of operational processes
- Result oriented deadline driven self-motivated
