We are proud to be working with a large community support organisation in their search for an experienced and confident leader as an Assistant Director Information Releases where youll lead a specialist team managing the lawful release of highly sensitive client information in a complex clinical and statutory environment.
This is a critical governance role with statutory decision-making responsibility under the Privacy Act 1988 FOI Act 1982 subpoenas court orders and other legal notices. Youll ensure information is released lawfully ethically and defensibly while providing trusted advice to senior leaders on privacy legal and information-governance risks.
What youll do
Lead and manage a specialist team handling FOI Privacy Act requests subpoenas and other legal notices
Make and oversee statutory decisions involving sensitive clinical information
Prepare high-quality clinical incident reviews reports and executive-level advice
Manage competing priorities to deliver timely accurate and compliant outcomes
Support Clinical Incident Reviews Clinical Panels and continuous quality improvement activities
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across government
Model integrity professionalism emotional intelligence and a positive team culture
Demonstrated experience at EL1 level (or equivalent) in a governance or statutory role
Extensive experience managing FOI privacy matters subpoenas and legal correspondence
Strong written and verbal communication skills including defensible decision-making
Proven ability to lead teams in complex high-risk operational environments
Sound judgement resilience and the ability to manage sensitive material with care
Experience working within the Australian Public Service
Background in health or mental health settings
