About the Role:
St Vincents Private Hospital Northside is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory with a strong background in structural heart interventions to join our high-performing team.
This role is ideal for a senior Cath Lab nurse who combines advanced clinical expertise in complex structural procedures with the aspiration to progress into some leadership and management training. The position will also provide opportunities to act in the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) role during periods of leave and to contribute to the operational and strategic leadership of the service.
Your Impact In this role you will:
Provide expert clinical leadership across a broad structural and interventional caseload including TAVI MitraClip ASD/PFO closure LAA occlusion complex coronary interventions electrophysiology and pacing.
Act as a key clinical resource during high-acuity structural cases supporting procedural flow imaging coordination and patient safety.
Support the NUM in operational and workforce management including daily coordination escalation support and resource utilisation.
Mentor and develop nursing staff in structural heart workflows advanced technology and best practice standards.
Participate in acting NUM opportunities gaining exposure to rostering service performance risk management and quality outcomes.
Contribute to business accountability including efficiency initiatives service sustainability and continuous improvement activities within the Cath Lab.

What Were Looking For:
Essential:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 5 years Cardiac Cath Lab experience in a tertiary or acute care setting
Demonstrated experience supporting structural heart procedures (e.g. TAVI MitraClip LAAO ASD/PFO)
Strong clinical knowledge of patient preparation haemodynamic monitoring imaging support and post-procedural care for complex interventions
Demonstrated clinical leadership and mentorship capability
Excellent communication clinical judgement and problem-solving skills
Ability to balance clinical priorities with operational and service demands
Desirable:
Postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Nursing or related specialty
Experience contributing to workflow coordination quality improvement education or service development
Interest in future leadership or management roles within the Cath Lab
