Position Overview
Bakers Delight Bundoora is seeking a skilled and dedicated Baker to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation baking and presentation of a wide range of breads and bakery products while maintaining the highest standards of quality food safety and workplace hygiene.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing mixing and baking a variety of breads and bakery products including loaves rolls specialty breads and artisan items according to Bakers Delight recipes and production schedules
Measuring weighing and mixing ingredients such as flour yeast sugar salt and improvers to achieve consistent product quality
Operating and monitoring baking equipment including mixers dividers moulders provers and ovens
Assessing dough quality fermentation and baking conditions and making adjustments as required
Decorating glazing and finishing baked goods to meet brand and presentation standards
Ensuring all products meet quality control taste texture and appearance requirements
Maintaining strict food safety hygiene and cleanliness standards in accordance with Food Safety regulations
Monitoring stock levels of ingredients and assisting with ordering and stock rotation
Minimising waste and following correct handling and storage procedures
Working early morning shifts and meeting daily production targets
Assisting with training and mentoring junior staff when required
Complying with workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times
Requirements
Proven experience as a Baker in a commercial bakery or retail baking environment
Strong knowledge of bread production processes fermentation and baking techniques
Ability to operate bakery machinery safely and efficiently
Understanding of food safety hygiene standards and workplace safety practices
Good time management skills and ability to work under production deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks associated with baking operations

Required Skills:
AQF Certificate III in Baking or equivalent qualification OR minimum 35 years relevant commercial baking experience At least 2 years post-qualification or equivalent industry experience Proven experience in artisan and commercial bread production Strong understanding of dough fermentation baking processes and quality control Ability to work early mornings weekends and under pressure Reliable punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
