Global PACCAR Powertrain organization is seeking a motivated Engine Aftertreatment Verification Intern to support testing verification and system integration activities for PACCARs advanced engine aftertreatment systems.

What to Expect

  • In-person internships 40 hours a week minimum of 12 weeks
  • Location: Mount Vernon WA
  • Start Dates: May 18 2026 or June 22 2026
  • Visa Sponsorship: Not available for this position (H-1B TN OPT etc.)

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with industry professionals on diesel engine aftertreatment verification and integration projects.
  • Execute testing in vehicles and engine test cells to validate aftertreatment system performance.
  • Analyze test data refine analysis tools and draw meaningful technical conclusions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts through test procedure enhancements and documentation updates.
  • Provide recommendations based on test findings to drive next-step decisions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently in 3rd or 4th year of a bachelors program (graduating ) in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Software Mechatronics) Sciences or related STEM fields.
  • Basic understanding of diesel exhaust aftertreatment technologies (DOC DPF SCR DEF).
  • Foundational knowledge of engine control systems and CAN communication networks.
  • Strong analytical communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred:

  • Experience with data analysis and scripting (MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Hands-on experience with data acquisition and calibration tools such as ATI Vision Vector CANape/CANalyzer or ETAS INCA.
  • Prior involvement in test planning or experimental data processing.

  • The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hour (pay varies by undergraduate and graduate degree)
