Job Summary

The HSE Advisor is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the HSE function and providing professional HSE expertise and guidance to operations. This role reports to the HSE Manager. 

What would you be doing 

  • Promote and reinforce a strong HSE culture by engaging employees and subcontractors supporting orientations prejob meetings and advising on legislation best practices and required training.
  • Support field safety activities by assisting with hazard assessments workplace inspections incident investigations PPE/equipment checks and ensuring compliance with internal protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage safety documentation and data by tracking statistics generating summaries for clients and leadership ensuring accuracy posting monthly updates and maintaining entries in the Safety Action Log.
  • Oversee subcontractor safety compliance by reviewing documentation classifying subcontractors identifying gaps supporting risk mitigation plans and participating in annual reviews.
  • Provide ongoing training and communication through orientations safety alerts correctiveaction followup and general HSE support to managers supervisors and workers.

Qualifications :

  • Strong planning organizational interpersonal and communication abilities with the capability to collaborate effectively within teams and influence the development of HSE programs.
  • Technically proficient with solid computer skills (Microsoft Office) formal rootcause analysis training and comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
  • Certified HSE professional holding CSO/NCSO/CHSC or OHS certification (CRSP an asset) with experience using HSE management systems COR audits and internal auditor training considered beneficial.
  • Able to travel and work across industrial environments supported by a valid Class 5 drivers license and the ability to operate independently when needed.
  • 13 years of practical HSE experience in industrial work settings applying safety principles compliance knowledge and problemsolving skills in the field.

This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position and will require completion of drug and alcohol testing.
