Job Description:

We are the TD Procurement team dedicated to supporting TD Securities (TDS)a fastgrowing and dynamic division (also known on the street as Capital Markets). Our team plays a critical role in enabling TDS to operate efficiently responsibly and competitively as we engage with thirdparty partners across the globe.

We offer two distinct career paths each supporting a different stage of the thirdparty lifecycle:

1. Sourcing (Day 1 Activities)

Our Sourcing professionals lead the frontend of the procurement process including:

  • Managing competitive bid events (e.g. RFx)
  • Running vendor selection processes
  • Leading contract negotiations
  • Partnering with the business to develop sourcing strategies and drive value

This path is ideal for individuals who enjoy strategic problemsolving market analysis negotiation and working closely with internal partners and suppliers from day one.

2. Vendor Management (Day 2 Activities)

Our Vendor Managers support all postcontract activities to ensure longterm value compliance and operational excellence including:

  • Ongoing contract management
  • Supplier performance oversight
  • Risk compliance and control management
  • Relationship management with thirdparty partners throughout the life of the contract

This path is wellsuited for those who excel in governance relationship building risk management and continuous improvement.

In this role you will interface with stakeholders across the organization internal business partners subject matter experts other members of SSG and 3rd-parties to support the execution of the sourcing needs across the Bank.

CUSTOMER

  • Manage sourcing initiatives covering a range of complexity that support TD and business partner needs and objectives as well as help to mitigate risks to the organization
  • Responsible for the management and support of all SSG purchasing tools and is a subject matter expert on POs e-Auctions and Contract Compliance within the Ariba tool
  • Responsible for placing POs coordinating with vendors and tracking PO progress.
  • Ensure the accuracy of purchase requisitions PO details and vendor invoicing
  • Manage issues with POs in an efficient and timely manner. Ensure data accuracy within the tools and provide recommendations of ways to operate in more efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Proactively engages with the Strategic Sourcing Functions and Purchasing Team to identify new opportunities to leverage purchasing tools and processes and/or eAuction related buying strategies
  • Ensure effective delivery of Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) services to business partners
  • May support the monthly reporting and tracking for departmental KPIs and Savings Targets
  • Ensure data accuracy within the tools and provide recommendations of ways to operate in more efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data providing detailed information to support Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) buying/ sourcing decisions

SHAREHOLDER

  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate
  • Be knowledgeable of sourcing practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and keep abreast of emerging trends for own functional area
  • Protect the interests of the organization identify and manage risks and escalate non-standard high risk activities as necessary
  • Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development / delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience
  • Monitor service productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exists
  • Acquire and apply sourcing expertise provide guidance assistance and direction to others
  • Identify recommend and effectively execute standard practices applicable to the discipline
  • Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues trends and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Professional role with a focus on providing functional specialized business services advisory or process / program support for own area of specialty within defined parameters
  • Requires sound conceptual knowledge sourcing / procurement practices and procedures
  • Typically no supervisory accountability but may provide informal guidance to others
  • May lead small projects and / or support work streams of a bigger project
  • Investigates and analyzes potential solutions; ensures processes and functional programs are implemented
  • Executes on work with some complexity; generally requiring short to medium-term focus (weekly-monthly)
  • Accountable for own work and effective coordination of processes and information across related teams
  • Delivers on assigned initiatives / projects /programs with some direction from management
  • Generally reports to Senior / Manager role

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Post-Secondary Education and / or
  • 2 years of related experience in supply chain or vendor management
  • Good communication negotiation Influencing skill with an analytical mindset.
