Job Summary
Introduction
Overview:
The Nursery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the nursery and retail environment ensuring high standards of plant care customer service and staff supervision. This role requires strong horticultural knowledge handson involvement in plant maintenance and the ability to manage stock cash handling and workflow efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Plant Care & Nursery Operations
Water maintain and care for pot plants and nursery stock
Oversee the propagation growing and general cultivation of plants
Supervise the mixing of soil blends and the application of fertilizers and plant treatments
Ensure correct marking pricing and placement of plants and stock
Assist with planting and plant preparation when required
Staff Supervision
Provide daily oversight and guidance to staff
Monitor work quality productivity and adherence to plantcare standards
Ensure safe and correct handling of chemicals pesticides and fertilizers
Sales & Customer Service
Assist customers with plant selection product knowledge and general enquiries
Answer telephone calls and provide professional assistance
Support retail sales activities
Stock & Cash Management
Conduct cashups accurately
Manage stock levels including receiving marking and storinginventory
Collect and transport stock from suppliers when required
Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stocktakes
General Duties
Ensure the nursery environment is neat safe and wellpresented
Perform deliveries and assist with logistics as needed
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements
Previous experience in a nursery horticultural or retail environment
Strong knowledge of plant care propagation fertilizers pesticides and soil mixtures
Ability to supervise staff and manage daily operations
Valid drivers license
Relevant horticultural qualifications will be advantageous
Bilingual: Afrikaans and English
