About the Role
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is an integral part of Lathams Financial Accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting the Global Finance department in achieving financial reporting objectives across multiple international jurisdictions while preparing statutory financial statements and tax reports for these jurisdictions. This role will be located in ourGlobal Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing statutory ledgers monitoring reconciliations and investigating variances across billing collections and financial reporting data
- Preparing and reviewing account analyses journal entries and month-end closing tasks
- Validating financial data across accounting systems and maintaining financial accounting procedures
- Reviewing statutory reports identifying discrepancies and presenting findings to stakeholders as needed for resolution
- Collaborating with finance management on year-end reporting new report development and special projects
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive confidential privileged financial and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
Wed love to hear from you if you:
- Possess thorough knowledge of cash and accrual accounting principles in a multi-jurisdictional environment
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint
- Demonstrate experience with Elite 3E Systems Applications and Products (SAP) Business Objects or similar platforms preferably
And have:
- A bachelors degree or equivalent in accounting business or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent international certification preferably
- A minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in accounting practices and procedures with increasing responsibility
- International accounting and financial reporting experience including foreign exchange exposure preferably
- Public accounting or professional services firm experience preferably
