What youll be doing
Are you a driven student eager to gain hands-on experience in commercial real estate finance CIBCs Real Estate Finance Division specializes in providing financing solutions to real estate companies across Canada including both interim/construction and term lending. Our team of experienced professionals delivers full-service financial solutions to a diverse range of clients.
As a Co-op Student on this team you will work alongside Relationship Managers and industry experts gaining practical exposure to real estate lending and client relationship management. You will play an integral role in supporting the teams daily operations and strategic projects.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work youll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where youll spend 2-3 days per week on-site while other days will be remote.
Important information
You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for a role.

How youll succeed
Research & Analysis - Responsible for conducting in-depth company industry and portfolio analysis. Assist in performing risk assessments for existing and new credit arrangements through completing financial statement analysis sensitivity and scenario analysis valuation of different asset classes (ex. office retail residential industrial etc.) and reviewing third party reports (ex. environmental reports appraisals etc.).
Collaboration - Collaborating with internal risk partners to analyze key risks and mitigation strategies in existing and new credits.
Time Management - Youll ensure timely production and distribution of performance reports and statements of net worth.
Assisting the team - Youll provide exceptional client service and perform general administrative and operational support.
Building efficiencies - Youll drive continuous improvement of operational policies and procedures supporting various other activities.
