We are seeking a Legal Counsel with 5-8 years legal experience to join our team supporting the Pacific industrial and medical gases business. Reporting directly to the General Counsel & Company Secretary the role involves a broad range of responsibilities including the drafting and negotiation of contracts providing varied commercial and compliance legal advice and assisting in dispute resolution.Work on a wide range of commercial contracts such as:
industrial gas supply contracts with customers
agreements with agents and distributors
purchase contracts for services equipment energy and transport sourcing
Support sales team and procurement contracting processes
Provide legal support in dispute resolution
Have the opportunity to advise on a range of compliance topics in particular competition and small business contract/ consumer law
Provide internal legal training focusing on competition and consumer law contracting skills for sales and procurement teams and anti-corruption
Participate in workshops and discussions with the broader Air Liquide international legal team
Tertiary qualification in Law with 5-8 years PQE of practising experience
Hold a current Australian practising certificate or be eligible for admission
Inhouse experience preferred but not required
Demonstrated experience in commercial contract drafting and review
Good basis in competition and consumer law
Background/previous experience in advising on construction law contracts privacy law employment law and health and safety laws not essential well regarded
Strong communication technical drafting and problem solving skills
Superior attention to detail and good organizational skills
Enjoy to work collaboratively as part of a small team
