MDUSD is accepting in-district applications via School Spring for the following certificated position:
MENTOR TEACHER INDUCTION AND SUPPORT PROGRAM (TISP)ELIGIBILITY POOL
Candidates who are approved for the pool remain eligible to be pulled into a position for 3 years.
TISP Mentor Eligibility Pool Application Information and Instructions
Salary:Current placement on the Teachers Salary Schedule Extended Year Pay @ per diem rate as determined by the TSA Eligibility Selection Panel.
Work Year: 185 days
Work site: Willow Creek Center
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold appropriate CA teaching credential
- Eight (8) years of successful teaching experience - five (5) years minimum in MDUSD
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Evidence of commitment to continued professional growth
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of research-based practices
- Knowledge of adult learning and new teacher development
- Knowledge of the Common Core Standards and performance levels for students
- Understanding of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession
- Successful experience in mentoring
- Experience facilitating or providing professional development to colleagues
- Excellent evaluation record
- Expertise in formative assessment processes
- Ability to be an excellent professional role model
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Working knowledge of current educational technology
- Hold a valid California drivers license and have daily access to a vehicle
Desired:
- BCLAD (Spanish)
- Masters degree
- Experience in leadership positions including experiences such as a mentor Induction support provider department chair team leader etc

STEP 2
Attach a letter of interest to your application addressing why you are seeking the position of TISP Mentor evidence illustrating your leadership ability what you see as issues facing new teachers and how you would support them and a description of the relationship you feel should exist between you and a participating teacher.
STEP 3
As part of your application in School Spring list FOUR recommenders including an administrator a MDEA faculty representative a fellow professional whom you have mentored and a peer of your choice. A confidential recommendation link will be sent to these references. You must include one name for each role listed above.Please note that the act ofsubmitting the names of these referencesconstitutes your agreement to waive your rights to view the confidential recommendation.
STEP 4
Complete your School Spring application and submit it online byFridayFebruary 6 2026at 5:00 PM.

All four confidential recommendations must be received no later than4:00 p.m. on Friday February 17 2026.These will be sent directly to references.Please alert your references that you have listed them on the application and that there is a time sensitive deadline once they receive the recommendation form.

- Uses reflective conversations to promote teacher growth around culturally responsive teaching
- Participates in appropriate training/staff development
- Facilitates required trainings/meetings
- Guides participating teachers through the Induction Program
- Helps teachers focus on and develop their professional responsibilities
- Meets the needs of teachers administrators and TISP mentor colleagues by maintaining a flexible schedule
- Maintains confidentiality
- Works collaboratively with teachers administrators Program Specialists TISP mentor colleagues and Teachers on Special Assignment
- Maintains and submits all appropriate written documentation
- Uses technology as needed
- Maintains a high level of professionalism in all communication
- Meets required timelines and deadlines
- Communicates with the participating teachers on a regular basis
- Uses a variety of observations tools to collect classroom data
- Uses active listening reflective questioning paraphrasing and clarifying skills
