The main purpose of this position is to assist the Directorof the Commitment Records Unit by identifying analyzing and resolvingadministrative managerial and operational day to day office procedures andconcerns. Act as the liaison between DPDS and criminal justice agencies ondocumentation operational procedure policies that may affect the security andpublic safety mission of the Division of Pretrial Detention and Services.
Assist the Director in establishing policies goals andobjectives for the central records unit.
Serves as the liaison between the DPDS and federal statecounty and municipal police departments sheriff offices correctionalfacilities parole and probation agencies correctional institutions detentioncenters
Assist in planning directing and evaluating the dailyoperations of the Central Records Office which include the following:
Entering data into the Offender Case Management System(OCMS) computer system;
Processing pretrial mental health sentenced and federalinmate commitments;
Processing writ detainers warrants indictmentscommitment and added charge documents;
Processing subpoenas; Processing of extradition bailrelease and other court orders;
Conducting warrant checks via NCIC MILES JIS and CHASE;Processing hit confirmations;
Computing sentence diminution credits and release dates;Preparing inmate records for bail review trial and other court proceedings;
Preparing inmate records for transfer to othercorrectional and law enforcement jurisdictions;
Maintaining active and inactive inmate records; Verifyinginmate records; Resolving discrepancies in inmate commitment and criminalhistory data;
Microfilming and repositioning inmate records;
Disseminating criminal history information to the publicand to criminal justice agencies; Identifying inmates for parole hearings andsentence commutations;
Producing and disseminating population reports andstatistical data; and a range of other records keeping and data processingactivities.
Education:An AA Degree in Criminal Justices Legaland Ethical Studies and/or Business Administration.
