Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Supervising Pharmacist / Director of Pharmacy Services to lead pharmacy operations at our Rural Emergency Hospital. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing medication management ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting safe and effective pharmaceutical care across the facility. This would be for one day a week (flexible) with the pay range of $69.00 82.00 based on experience.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with physicians nursing staff and hospital leadership to ensure high-quality medication services that meet federal and state regulatory requirements and support excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all pharmacy services and medication management activities
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations state pharmacy laws and professional standards
- Oversee medication procurement storage dispensing and distribution systems (PYXIS)
- Maintain controlled substance compliance and inventory oversight
- Monitor medication safety errors and adverse drug events
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Provide clinical consultation to medical staff on medication therapy and dosing
- Develop and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures
Qualifications
Required
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of practice
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited program
- Hospital or health-system pharmacy experience
