Job Summary
Lead the Team That Keeps the Lines Running
Its 6:30 a.m. in West Indianapolis. Youre reviewing the weekly plan for a manufacturing and recycling operation while coordinating with shift leads who support up to 55 maintenance technicians across multiple shifts. Production targets set the rhythm; your teams craftsmanship keeps every mechanical system in tune.
What your day looks like
- Allocate work from the weekly schedule while staying flexible to protect critical plant equipment uptime.
- Walk the floor check workmanship for accuracy and neatness and ensure procedures are followed.
- Standardize and refine procedures so your technicians can work safer faster and smarter.
- Build a cohesive crewresolve grievances recognize wins and recommend training to elevate skills.
- Put in-place methods that hit production schedules and keep mechanical systems operating reliably.
- Source and order materials to complete work orders efficiently and at the lowest total cost.
- Champion environmental health safety and housekeeping programslead by example.
- Represent Maintenance on JTE team activities and coach Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Author and implement Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) to drive consistency across the team.
What you bring
- High school diploma.
- 2 years leading or supervising maintenance in an industrial setting.
- Clear confident communicationboth written and verbal.
- Environmental and safety training suited to plant equipment and tasks.
- Job instructional training and quality system familiarity.
- Awareness of ISO 14001 and 9001 EMS objectives and targets and significant environmental impacts.
- OHSAS 45001 Awareness OH&S-MS objectives and goals hazard identification risk assessment and risk control.
Work environment
Please Note: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions toxic or caustic chemicals risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in some areas of the work environment requires ear protection. Employee must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
